This level of supportive housing is the least restrictive. Sober Houses (a.k.a. Recovery Residences) provide a shared, community-based environment.

The idea is to practice living in real life without drug use. Houses are often independently owned and operated, both for-profit and not-for profit status. Usually, all are welcome after an interview and assessment of the individuals' situation. It is best when referred by a service provider from one of the more restrictive levels of care.
